Spring Bingo Card Generator
Printable spring bingo with tulips, butterflies, puddles and kites – words or pictures, every card different, plus a call list.
How to make spring bingo cards
- Open the page. The tool starts in ‘My words’ mode with the Spring word list loaded, and the card colour starts as green.
- Check the word list. Each line is one item. Edit, add or delete lines as you like. To print one thing on the card and say another on the call list, write ‘card text | call text’. Emoji work as pictures.
- Choose the grid size: 3 × 3, 4 × 4 or 5 × 5. If the list is too short, the tool says how many more items you need.
- For a 3 × 3 or 5 × 5 grid, switch the free space on or off. Change its text if you want, or keep the default FREE. A 4 × 4 grid has no free space.
- Set the number of cards, from 1 to 500. The default is 10.
- Choose your print options: cards per page, paper size, card title, letters row, card number and colour.
- Use Previous and Next to check each card in the preview.
- Click Print cards. For a shuffled calling order with tick boxes, plus the full list in order to check a winner, click Print call list.
Click New set for new random cards with a new game code. Copy link saves the exact cards and your word list as a link. Use with the online caller opens the caller page with the same game. To save as PDF, choose ‘Save as PDF’ as the printer in the print dialog and set the scale to 100%, not ‘fit to page’, so the cards print at full size.
How to play spring bingo with kids
Give each child a printed card and read the items from the call list, and children cover each square they hear. The first child to complete a line across, down or diagonally calls bingo. Print the call list to get a shuffled calling order with tick boxes, so you can tick off each item as you read it. Before you accept a win, check the child’s line against the full list in order, which the call list also prints. A 3 × 3 grid is quick for younger children, while older children can enjoy a 5 × 5 grid.
Can spring bingo be a spring nature walk or scavenger hunt?
Yes. Spring bingo also works as a spring walk, with no caller. Children take a printed card outside and cover a square when they see the thing on it, such as a robin, a puddle, a blossom or a worm. Choose items you are likely to see outdoors, such as Puddle, Robin, Cherry tree and Sprout from the Spring list. Make a set with enough cards for each child, since no two cards in a set are the same.
Are there picture cards for preschool?
Yes. The Spring pictures preset has 32 emoji, each with a word, such as 🌷 Tulip, 🦋 Butterfly, 🐣 Hatching chick and ☔ Umbrella. For preschoolers, use the 3 × 3 grid, which takes 8 pictures plus the free space. Say each word aloud as you call it, so children can match the picture on their card to the word. If you want a picture on the card and a simpler word on the call list, write each line as ‘card text | call text’.
What goes on a spring bingo card?
Each square holds one item from your word list. A 5 × 5 grid with a free space needs 24 different items, a 4 × 4 grid needs 16, and a 3 × 3 grid with a free space needs 8. The card can also show a title (the default is SPRING BINGO), an optional row of letters above the grid, and an optional card number made from the game code and the card’s position, such as K7Q2MX-1. The same game code and settings always produce the same cards. The spread of possible cards is large: with the 40 Spring words, a 5 × 5 card with a free space has 62,852,101,650 possible sets of 24 squares, and with the 32 Spring pictures it has 10,518,300.
Frequently asked questions
Is spring bingo free to print?
Yes. The generator is free and needs no sign-up. Cards are made on your own device, so nothing is uploaded. You can print them directly or save them as a PDF.
Can I use my own spring words?
Yes. Start with the Spring preset or replace its lines with your own. The preset lists have no Easter items, so the cards suit any class. Add lines such as Easter egg or Earth Day if you want them.
Can I come back to the same cards later?
Yes. Click Copy link to get a link that opens exactly the same cards again, including your word list. The same game code and settings always produce the same cards.
How many different cards can I make?
You can make up to 500 cards in one set, and no two cards in a set have the same squares. If your list is too short for the number you choose, the tool tells you how many different cards are possible.
Can I play spring bingo outdoors?
Yes. Print the cards and take them on a walk. Children cover a square when they see the thing on it, so no caller is needed. Puddle, Robin, Worm and Blossom are easy to spot in many places in spring.
