Picture Bingo Cards Maker

Make picture bingo cards from your own photos or ready-made pictures – every card different, with a picture call list for the caller.

Picture bingo cards are bingo cards where each square shows a picture instead of a number or a word. This free picture bingo maker makes them in your web browser. No sign-up is needed, and nothing is uploaded, because the cards are made on your own device.

The page starts with a ready-made picture list, so you can print a set straight away. You can change the grid size, add a free space, choose how many cards to make, and use your own photos or drawings. Every card in a set is different, so a group can play at the same time without matching cards.

Picture bingo suits children, families and classrooms, because players find the pictures on their cards rather than reading them.

How to use the picture bingo maker

  1. Open the page. It starts in My words mode with this page’s picture list loaded.
  2. Check the card content choice. Keep My words for picture bingo. The other choices are Numbers 1–75, Numbers 1–90 and Blank.
  3. Pick a grid size: 3 × 3, 4 × 4 or 5 × 5.
  4. Switch the free space on or off. It is available on 3 × 3 and 5 × 5 grids. Change its text if you like; the default is FREE.
  5. Edit the word list box. Put one item on each line, and add or delete items as needed. If the list is too short, the tool tells you how many more are needed.
  6. To use your own pictures, open Use your own pictures and choose up to 120 image files.
  7. Set the number of cards, from 1 to 500. The default is 10.
  8. Choose print options: 1, 2 or 4 cards per page, US Letter or A4, a card title, an optional letters row, an optional card number and a colour.
  9. Click New set for new random cards with a new game code. Use Previous and Next to look through the preview.
  10. Click Print cards, then Print call list.

Copy link reopens exactly the same cards, including your word list (your own picture files are not in the link). Use with the online caller opens the bingo caller page with the same game. To save a PDF, choose “Save as PDF” as the printer and set the scale to 100%, not “fit to page”.

How do you make picture bingo cards

You make picture bingo cards by listing one picture per line and letting the tool place them on random cards. Each square needs a different item, so the list must be long enough for your grid. A 5 × 5 card with a free space needs 24 items (25 without), a 4 × 4 card needs 16, and a 3 × 3 card with a free space needs 8 (9 without).

Emoji work as pictures. To print one text on the card and a different text on the call list, write it as “card text | call text”. The left part goes on the card and the right part goes on the call list. You can also use your own image files. Each file becomes one item, named from its file name, so red_apple.jpg becomes “Red apple”. Pictures and words can be mixed in one list.

Every card in a set is different: no two cards have the same set of squares. If your list is too short for the number of cards you want, the tool says how many different cards are possible. The same game code and settings always produce the same cards, which is why the copied link opens an identical set.

How does picture bingo work

Picture bingo works like word bingo, except the squares show pictures. The caller shows or names one picture at a time from the call list. Each player finds that picture on their card and covers it. The first player with a full line, or the agreed pattern, calls Bingo.

Players do not need to read, so the game suits toddlers, preschoolers, ESL learners and older adults. Large, simple pictures on a 3 × 3 or 4 × 4 grid are the easiest to see. The printed call list gives a shuffled calling order with tick boxes, plus the full list in order so you can check a winning card.

Frequently asked questions

How to play picture bingo?

Give each player a card and a few counters. The caller picks a picture from the call list and shows it or says its name. Players who have that picture cover it. The first player with a full line calls Bingo, and the caller checks the card against the full list.

Can I use my own photos?

Yes. Open “Use your own pictures” and choose up to 120 image files from your device, such as photos, clip art or drawings. Name the files before you choose them, because each file name becomes the item name. You can also rename items in the word list afterwards.

Are my pictures uploaded?

No. Pictures stay on your device. They are never uploaded and are not saved in the link, so after reloading the page you need to choose them again. The Remove my pictures button clears them.

Is picture bingo good for toddlers or people with dementia?

Picture bingo can suit both groups because it asks players to recognise pictures rather than read. For toddlers, use a 3 × 3 card with a free space, which needs only 8 pictures. For people with dementia, choose large, familiar pictures, and pick a grid that is easy to scan. Family photos work well for this. Check with a carer or family member about which pictures suit the person.

Can every card in a set be different?

Yes, as long as your list has enough items. Every card in a set has a different set of squares. If the list is too short to make the number of cards you asked for, the tool tells you how many different cards are possible.

Can I use the same cards again?

Yes. Copy link opens exactly the same cards and word list at any time. Your own pictures are not in the link, so choose the same files again after opening it. Each card can also show a card number made of the game code and its position, for example K7Q2MX-1, so you can match cards to players later.
