Number Bingo Card Generator
Printable number bingo for number recognition: numerals or number words on the cards, a shuffled call list for the teacher.
This free number bingo tool makes printable number bingo cards in your web browser. There is no sign-up, and nothing you enter is uploaded, because the cards are made on your device. You can use it for numbers, number words, or your own list, and it works well for number recognition practice at home or in class.
The page opens with a preset list of numbers 1 to 20, so you can make a set of cards straight away. You can change the grid size, the number of cards, the title and the print layout before you print. Each card in a set is different, so every player has their own board.
How to make number bingo cards
- Leave the content on ‘My words’ mode and pick a preset list: Numbers 1–20 (the default), Numbers 1–30, Numbers 1–100, or Number words 1–30.
- Choose a grid size: 3 × 3, 4 × 4 or 5 × 5. The page starts at 4 × 4. A 5 × 5 card needs 24 different items, so use Numbers 1–30 or 1–100 for it.
- For a 3 × 3 or 5 × 5 grid, switch the free space on or off. You can change its text, which is FREE by default. A 4 × 4 grid has no free space.
- Edit the word list if you want. Put one item per line, and add or delete items as needed. To print one thing on the card and call another, write it as
card text | call text. - Set the number of cards, from 1 to 500 (the default is 10).
- Set the print options: 1, 2 or 4 cards per page, US Letter or A4 paper, a card title, an optional letters row, an optional card number, and one of six colours.
- Use Previous and Next in the preview to check the cards.
- Click Print cards to print the cards, and Print call list to print the calling order with tick boxes and the full list for checking a winner.
To keep the same cards, use Copy link. To make a new set with a new game code, use New set. To save as PDF, choose ‘Save as PDF’ as the printer and set the scale to 100%, not ‘fit to page’, so the cards print at full size.
How is number bingo different from classic 75-ball bingo?
Classic bingo uses B-I-N-G-O columns, with B for 1 to 15, up to O for 61 to 75. The Numbers 1–75 choice in this tool follows that layout. Number bingo does not use columns: numbers can appear anywhere on the card, in any order, which makes it better for number recognition practice.
The rules are still simple. Players mark each called number on their card, and the first player to complete a line shouts bingo. The difference is what the player has to do. In classic bingo, a player checks a column for the letter and number. In number bingo, a child has to recognise the number itself, wherever it sits on the card.
What numbers to use for preschool, kindergarten and first grade?
A good starting point is to match the number range to the stage. Each list must have enough different items for the grid you choose: 8 for a 3 × 3 card with a free space, 9 without, 16 for a 4 × 4 card, and 24 for a 5 × 5 card with a free space, 25 without.
For preschool, numbers 1 to 10 are a sensible range. The preset Numbers 1–20 list has more items than needed, so delete items from the word list until only 1 to 10 remain. That gives 10 items, enough for a 3 × 3 card with a free space or without one. For kindergarten, Numbers 1–20 has 20 items, enough for 3 × 3 and 4 × 4 cards. For first grade, Numbers 1–30 or 1–100 gives enough items for 5 × 5 cards and lets children practise larger numbers.
How do I play number bingo with number words?
Load Number words 1–30. Each card shows words such as eleven, fourteen or twenty-six, and the call list shows the numerals in a shuffled order. Call 14, and children look for the word fourteen. This links the spoken number, the numeral and the written word. For a harder round, write the numeral on the board without saying it.
Frequently asked questions
How do I play number bingo with kids?
Print the cards and the call list. Give each child a card and some markers, then call numbers in the order on the call list, ticking each one as you go. Children cover a called number on their card, and the first child to complete a line calls out bingo.
Can the card show number words and the caller say the numeral?
Yes. Choose the Number words 1–30 preset. The card shows words such as ‘seven’ or ’twenty-one’, and the call list shows the numeral 7 or 21. The teacher calls the numeral, and children find the matching word.
How many different cards can I make?
You can make up to 500 cards in one set, and every card in the set is different. How many different cards are possible depends on your list. On a 4 × 4 card, numbers 1–20 give 4,845 different sets of 16 squares, and numbers 1–30 give 145,422,675. If your list is too short for the number of cards you asked for, the tool tells you how many different cards are possible.
Is this a free printable number bingo generator?
Yes. It is free, needs no sign-up, and runs in your browser. You can print the cards directly, or save them as a PDF by choosing ‘Save as PDF’ and setting the scale to 100%.
Can I use these cards with an online caller?
Yes. Use with the online caller opens the bingo caller page with the same game and list, so the numbers can be drawn on screen and read aloud by the browser.
Can I get the same cards again later?
Yes. Copy link opens exactly the same cards again, including your word list. The same game code and settings always produce the same cards.
