Movie Bingo Card Generator
Printable movie bingo to play while you watch – film clichés, holiday romance movie bingo or Christmas movie titles.
Movie bingo is a game where each player has a card of things that might happen in a film, and you mark a square each time one appears on screen. This page has a free movie bingo card maker that runs in your web browser. There is no sign-up, and nothing is uploaded, because your cards are made on your own device.
You can build a movie night bingo set from the Movie night preset, a christmas movie bingo set from the Christmas movies preset, or a hallmark bingo set from the Holiday romance movies preset. Each set can contain up to 500 cards, and every card is different, so players do not end up with identical squares. Choose a grid size, edit the words, then print the cards or save them as a PDF.
How to use the movie bingo card generator
- Leave the content set to My words. The page opens this way with this page’s preset list already loaded, so you can start from a ready-made list.
- Edit the word list. Put one item on each line, and add or delete items as you like. To print one wording on the card and another on the call list, write
card text | call text. Emoji work as pictures. - Pick a grid size: 3 × 3, 4 × 4 or 5 × 5. For 3 × 3 or 5 × 5, you can switch on a free space in the centre and change its text from FREE. A 4 × 4 grid has no free space.
- Set the number of cards, from 1 to 500 per set (the default is 10).
- Set the layout: 1, 2 or 4 cards per page, US Letter or A4 paper, the card title (it starts as MOVIE BINGO), and optionally a letters row, a card number and one of six colours.
- Use the Previous and Next buttons to check the preview one card at a time.
- Click Print cards. For a caller, click Print call list to get a shuffled calling order with tick boxes, plus the full list in order to check a winner.
New set creates new random cards with a new game code. Copy link saves your exact cards and word list, so the same cards open again later. Use with the online caller opens the caller page with the same game and list.
What goes on a movie night bingo card
The Movie night preset has 40 clichés that turn up in almost any film, such as Car chase, Plot twist, Villain laughs, Someone says the title, Training montage, Dramatic rain and a Credits scene. It works for action films, comedies and family films alike, so you can print one set and use it for a whole film season.
What goes on a hallmark movie bingo card
A hallmark movie bingo card usually lists the stock moments of made-for-TV holiday romance films. The Holiday romance movies preset on this page has 36 of them, including Big-city career woman, Small hometown, Christmas tree farm, Bakery, Almost-kiss interrupted, Royal in disguise, Snow starts falling and Kiss in the snow. Players mark each square when that moment happens during the film.
“Hallmark” is an informal name for this style of game. This site is not affiliated with Hallmark. Good items are specific enough that everyone agrees when they have happened, and common enough that they are likely to appear in the film you are watching.
What goes on a christmas movie bingo card
A christmas movie bingo card can hold either moments from holiday films or film titles, depending on the game. The Christmas movies preset lists 32 titles, such as Home Alone, Elf, The Polar Express, It’s a Wonderful Life and Klaus. That list is for a different game: a caller reads a title, or plays a short clip or quote, and players mark the matching title.
For a watch-along game, where nobody has a caller, use moments instead, such as a snowy scene or a character singing a carol.
Each grid needs a certain number of different items. A 5 × 5 card with a free space needs 24, and 25 without. A 4 × 4 card needs 16. A 3 × 3 card needs 8 with a free space, and 9 without. Because every card in a set is different, a longer list gives more variety. With the 40 movie-night items and a 5 × 5 card with a free space, there are 62,852,101,650 different sets of 24 squares.
Frequently asked questions
How do you play movie bingo?
Give each player a card, then start the film. Each player marks a square when that item happens on screen. The first player to complete a line, or a full blackout if you agree on that, wins. Without a caller, you can play as a watch-along game.
Can I make bingo for one specific film?
Yes. Type 24 or more moments, characters or quotes from that film into the word list, one per line. A 5 × 5 card with a free space needs at least 24 items.
Is it free and printable?
Yes. The generator is free, needs no sign-up and uploads nothing. Print the cards on US Letter or A4 paper, or save them as a PDF.
Is this the same as Hallmark movie bingo?
The name is informal and refers to bingo based on holiday romance films. This site is not affiliated with Hallmark. The Holiday romance movies preset uses common clichés from those films.
Can I play with a caller?
Yes. Click Print call list for a shuffled calling order with tick boxes, or use the online caller. Callers can read out the titles or clips, and players mark the matching square.
How many cards do I need for a movie night?
One per player. Set the number of cards to the size of your group, from 1 to 500; every card is different, so nobody wins at the same moment by accident. Print 2 or 4 per page for a big group.
