Loteria Cards Generator (Lotería Tablas)

Make printable lotería tablas and the caller's deck from the 54 traditional cards – or your own names and pictures.

This loteria card generator makes lotería tablas (the players’ boards) and the caller’s deck of picture cards, and it runs in your web browser. It is free, needs no sign-up, and uploads nothing. Lotería is a traditional Mexican game of chance, often called Mexican bingo, but it uses pictures and names instead of numbers. You can use the traditional 54 cards, edit the names, or add your own pictures from your device. The default grid is 4 × 4, the usual lotería tabla, and 3 × 3 and 5 × 5 are also available. Every tabla in a set is different, so each player in the group gets a unique board.

How to use the Loteria Card Generator

  1. Choose the grid size. 4 × 4 is the default and the usual lotería tabla. You can also pick 3 × 3 or 5 × 5.
  2. Set the number of tablas, from 1 to 200.
  3. Choose 1, 2 or 4 tablas per page, and pick the paper size: US Letter or A4.
  4. Pick one of six colours and type a title. The default title is LOTERÍA.
  5. Tick the options you want: the card number in each cell, the name under a picture, and the tabla number. The tabla number combines the game code and position, such as K7Q2MX-1.
  6. Check the card names list. It starts with the traditional 54 cards in order, one name per line. Edit names as you like, or use the restore button to bring back the traditional 54.
  7. To use your own pictures, choose image files from your device. Files are matched in file-name order (the first file is card 1), or by a number in the file name (01.png is card 1).
  8. Use the Preview switch to look at the Tablas or the Deck cards before printing.
  9. Click Print tablas for the players’ boards, Print the deck to get one calling card per name, or Print the calling list to get a shuffled order with tick boxes.
  10. Click Call the cards on screen to open the online bingo caller with the 54 lotería names.

To share a set, click Copy link. It reopens the same tablas, but pictures are not included in the link. Click New set to make new tablas with a new game code.

How many cards are in a loteria deck?

A standard lotería deck has 54 picture cards. Each card has a number from 1 to 54 and a name, such as 1 El Gallo, 2 El Diablito, 3 La Dama, 4 El Catrín and 54 La Rana. The card names list on this page follows this traditional order. A 4 × 4 tabla uses 16 of the 54 cards, and there are 21,094,923,659,355 different sets of 16 cards, so every tabla in a set can be unique.

What number is El Mundo in loteria?

El Mundo is card number 37 in the traditional order used on this page. On a tabla, the number shown is the line number in the card names list. If you reorder the list, the numbers follow the new positions, so check the list before you print.

How do you play loteria?

The caller, called el cantor, shuffles the deck and turns over one card at a time, announcing its name. Callers often add a short rhyme or riddle. Players who have that picture on their tabla mark it, traditionally with dried beans. The first player to complete the agreed pattern shouts “¡Lotería!” Common patterns are a row, a column, a diagonal, the four corners, or the full tabla. Groups agree on the pattern before the first card is turned.

What is the difference between loteria and bingo?

Loteria uses pictures and names, while bingo uses numbers. A bingo caller draws numbered balls, usually from 75 or 90, but a lotería caller uses a deck of 54 cards. A lotería tabla is usually 4 × 4 with no free space. The basic rhythm is similar, though: one caller, players marking their boards, and a first winner who completes the pattern.

Can I use my own pictures on loteria cards?

Yes. Choose image files on your device, and they are matched to the cards by file-name order or by the number in the file name. The page only reads the pictures; they are never uploaded and are not saved in the link. After you reload, you need to choose them again. Any card without a picture shows its name instead.

Is this loteria generator free?

Yes. The tool is free and needs no sign-up. It runs in your web browser, and nothing is uploaded, so your pictures and settings stay on your device.

Frequently asked questions

How many tablas can I make at once?

You can make from 1 to 200 tablas in one set, and every tabla in the set is different. Click New set to start a new group with a new game code.

What is a game code?

The game code identifies a set of tablas. When you turn on the tabla number option, each board shows the code and its position, such as K7Q2MX-1. Print the calling list uses the code, so the same code always gives the same shuffled order.

Can I print calling cards to cut out?

Yes. Print the deck gives one calling card per name, 3 × 3 per page, with the number, name and picture. Cut them out and shuffle them to call the game by hand.

Why do my pictures disappear after I reload?

The page does not save your pictures, and they are not in the link. Choose the image files again after reloading. Copy link reopens the same tablas without the pictures.

Can I change the card names?

Yes. Edit the names in the card names list, one per line. The restore button brings back the traditional 54 cards.

Can I show the card number and name on each cell?

Yes. Turn on the card number in each cell, and the name under the picture. Cards without a picture still show their name.

Can I call the cards on screen?

Yes. Click Call the cards on screen to open the online bingo caller with the 54 lotería names. These names appear while the list is the unmodified traditional one.
