Blank Bingo Card Maker
Empty bingo cards to fill in by hand: pick the grid, free space and title, then print as many as you need.
A blank bingo card is a grid of empty squares that you fill in yourself with numbers, words or pictures before the game. This bingo card generator makes blank bingo cards in your web browser. It is free, needs no sign-up, and nothing is uploaded, because the cards are made on your own device.
The tool opens on Blank, so every square is empty and ready for a teacher, a class, a party or a family game to write in by hand. You can choose a 3 × 3, 4 × 4 or 5 × 5 grid, add a free space in the centre of odd-sized grids, add a title, and print from 1 to 500 cards in one set.
How to use the Bingo Card Generator
- Leave the card content set to Blank so the squares stay empty.
- Choose a grid size: 3 × 3, 4 × 4 or 5 × 5.
- For a 3 × 3 or 5 × 5 grid, switch on the free space in the centre. Change its text if you want something other than FREE.
- Set the number of cards from 1 to 500. The default is 10.
- Add a title, and turn on the letters row or the card number if you want them.
- Pick a colour for the print.
- Choose 1, 2 or 4 cards per page and US Letter or A4 paper.
- Use Previous and Next in the preview to check your cards.
- Click Print cards.
If you want to share or come back to the same cards, use Copy link. The link opens exactly the same cards again. New set makes new random cards with a new game code. To save a file instead of printing on paper, choose “Save as PDF” as the printer in the print dialog and set the scale to 100%, not “fit to page”, so the cards print at full size.
For handwriting, 1 or 2 cards per page leaves the most room in each square; 4 per page suits short numbers or single words.
If you plan to photocopy the cards, choose the black and white colour so the lines stay sharp on the copies.
How to make a blank bingo card
Open the generator and keep the card content on Blank. Each square is empty, so you can write your own words or numbers on it by hand.
A blank card is a simple grid. A 5 × 5 card has 25 squares arranged in five columns and five rows. If you turn on the letters row, the columns are labelled B-I-N-G-O. The title sits above the grid, and each card can show a card number if you choose one. The centre square of a 3 × 3 or 5 × 5 grid can hold a free space, while a 4 × 4 grid has no centre square.
How to fill in blank bingo cards
Write one item in each square, and make sure no two cards end up with the same set of items, or two players could win at the same moment. When cards are filled in by hand, that is up to the players, so mix the order and the choice of words.
A good method is to write a longer list on a board first. For example, write 30 to 40 words, then have each person copy 24 of them into any squares they like, with the free space in the centre. Every card ends up different. The caller then reads out the words, and players mark the ones they have. The number of items you need depends on the grid: 24 for a 5 × 5 card with a free space, 25 without one, 16 for a 4 × 4 card, and 8 for a 3 × 3 card with a free space, or 9 without one.
Can I print blank bingo cards with a free space
Yes. Switch on the free space for a 3 × 3 or 5 × 5 grid, and it appears in the centre square with the text FREE. You can change that text to any word you like, such as “Wild” or “Start”.
A 4 × 4 grid has no centre square, so it cannot have a free space. If you need a free space on a 4 × 4 card, use a 3 × 3 or 5 × 5 grid instead.
What size blank bingo card should I use
Choose 5 × 5 for the most squares, 4 × 4 for a medium game, or 3 × 3 for a short game with few items. The size sets how many squares each player has to fill, so match it to how many words or numbers you plan to write.
Paper size also matters. Printing 4 cards per page makes each card small, so use 1 or 2 cards per page when the squares need room for handwriting. Use a larger grid when players will write long words.
Frequently asked questions
Is this blank bingo card generator free to use?
Yes. It runs in your web browser, needs no sign-up, and nothing is uploaded, because the cards are made on your device.
Can I save a blank bingo template to use again?
Use Copy link. The link opens exactly the same cards again, including your settings. The same game code and settings always produce the same cards.
How do I save a blank bingo printable as a PDF?
Choose “Save as PDF” as the printer in the print dialog. Set the scale to 100%, not “fit to page”, so the cards print at full size.
Can I add a card number to each blank card?
Yes. A card number is made of the game code and the card’s position, for example K7Q2MX-1. This helps you tell cards apart when you write on them.
Can I print blank bingo cards on A4 paper?
Yes. You can choose US Letter or A4 paper. You can also print 1, 2 or 4 cards per page.
What if I already have my words typed?
Choose My words instead of Blank. Type one item per line, and the tool prints the words on the cards for you, with every card different.
