Bible Bingo Card Generator
Printable Bible bingo for Sunday school, youth group or church night – books, people or stories, every card different.
Bible bingo is a game where players mark squares named after Bible books, people or stories, and this free Bible bingo generator makes the cards for you. It runs in your web browser, so there is no sign-up, and the cards are made on your own device.
The page opens with a preset list of all 66 books of the Protestant Bible, so you can print books of the Bible bingo cards straight away. You can switch to the Bible people or Bible stories lists, or type your own items. Each set can hold up to 500 different cards, and you choose the grid size, the number of cards per page and the card title. It suits Sunday school, church bingo nights, youth groups and family games.
How to make Bible bingo cards
- Open the page. It loads in My words mode with the Books of the Bible list already filled in.
- To change the content, click the Bible people or Bible stories button above the word list, or edit the word list box directly. Put one item on each line, and add or delete lines as needed.
- For a clue-and-answer game, write each line as card text | call text. The left part prints on the card, and the right part goes on the call list.
- Choose a grid size: 3 × 3, 4 × 4 or 5 × 5. For 3 × 3 and 5 × 5 you can switch on a free centre square and change its text. 4 × 4 has no free space.
- Check the item count. A 5 × 5 card with a free space needs 24 items, a 4 × 4 needs 16, and a 3 × 3 with a free space needs 8. If the list is short, the tool tells you how many more you need.
- Set the number of cards (1 to 500, default 10). Then pick the cards per page, paper size, title, colour, and whether to show a letters row or card number.
- Click Print cards to print the set. Click Print call list to get a shuffled calling order with tick boxes, plus the full list in order for checking a winner.
New set makes fresh random cards with a new game code. Copy link saves your exact cards and word list as a link, and Use with the online caller opens the bingo caller page with the same game.
How to play bible bingo in Sunday school
Each player gets a different card, and the leader reads the clues from the call list. A player marks a square when the item on it matches the call. The first player to mark a full line across, down or diagonally calls out bingo, and the leader checks the winner against the full list.
The call text does not have to repeat the card text. A leader can print Jonah on the card and read “Swallowed by a big fish” as the clue. Children then have to think about the story rather than just match words. A Bible stories set works well for this, because the clue is a scene and the answer is the story’s name.
The shuffled call list means the leader does not need to choose the order. On a 5 × 5 card with a free centre square, a line through the middle needs only four calls, so a first winner can come quickly.
How many books are in the Bible
The Protestant Bible has 66 books: 39 in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament. The Books of the Bible preset holds all 66 in order, from Genesis to Revelation. The squares on each card are placed at random, so players cannot guess a book from its position.
Catholic and Orthodox Bibles contain additional books, such as Tobit, Judith, and 1 and 2 Maccabees. The preset does not include these, so if your group uses one of those Bibles, add the extra titles to the list yourself. Every item you add is treated the same as the preset books.
Which list suits which group?
Books of the Bible suits older children and adults who are learning the order of the books. Bible people works well for a clue game, where the leader describes a person and players find the name. Bible stories suits younger children, because each square names a story they may already know from class.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use my own verses or memory verses?
Yes. Type any item in the word list box, one per line. For a memory verse game, write the reference on the card and the verse text on the call list, for example John 3:16 | For God so loved the world…
Is it good for church fundraisers or game nights?
It works well for both, because one set can give you as many as 500 different cards to print. The tool only makes and prints the cards. It does not handle tickets, entry fees or prizes, so plan those yourself.
Can young children play?
Yes. The 3 × 3 or 4 × 4 grids with the Bible stories list suit younger children, since there are fewer squares to watch. Simple call text such as “Jonah | Swallowed by a big fish” gives them a clear clue.
Will every card in a set be different?
Yes. No two cards in a set have the same set of squares. If your list is too short to make the number of cards you asked for, the tool tells you how many different cards are possible.
Can I save the cards as a PDF?
Yes. Choose Save as PDF as the printer in the print dialog, then set the scale to 100%, not fit to page, so the cards print at full size.
