Animal Bingo Card Generator
Printable animal bingo with pictures or names – farm, zoo, ocean, birds or dinosaurs, or your own photos – every card different.
Animal bingo is a calling game in which each player marks animals on a card as the caller reads them out, and the first player to complete a line calls “Bingo!” This free bingo card generator makes printable animal bingo cards in your web browser. There is no sign-up, and nothing is uploaded, because the cards are made on your device.
The page opens with the Animal pictures list (42 emoji with a word) already loaded, so you can print a set straight away. You can also type your own words, or use pictures from your device. The included lists cover farm animals, zoo animals, ocean animals, birds and dinosaurs, so the same tool works for bird bingo, ocean bingo, dinosaur bingo and more. Every card in a set is different, so no two players have the same squares.

How to play animal bingo with kids
Each child gets a card, and you call out one animal at a time. Children cover the called animal on their card if they have it, and the first child to fill a full row, column or diagonal line calls “Bingo!” The winner’s card is checked against the full list.
For young children, use a 3 × 3 grid with a free space, which needs only 8 items. You can also set the call text to the sound an animal makes, using lines such as Cow | Moo (or 🐮 Cow | Moo for picture cards): the card shows the animal and the call list shows the sound, so the caller makes the sound instead of saying the name. Children then match the sound to the animal on their card.
What is bird bingo
Bird bingo is a version of animal bingo that uses only birds. It is played in two ways. The first is as a called game with bird names or pictures, just like standard animal bingo. The second is as a birdwatching card, where players mark each bird they see or hear outside.
For birdwatching, use the Birds list with one card per person. Edit the list to match the birds in your area, since the preset includes examples such as Robin, Cardinal and Puffin that may not all live near you.
Farm, zoo, ocean or dinosaur bingo: which list to use?
The Farm animals list has 30 names, from Cow, Calf and Piglet to Llama and Alpaca, and suits toddlers and preschool farm topics. Zoo animals has 40, such as Giraffe, Hippo, Meerkat and Red panda. Ocean animals has 32, from Shark and Octopus to Seahorse and Narwhal, for an ocean bingo before a beach or aquarium trip. Dinosaurs has 30, including Tyrannosaurus rex, Triceratops and Stegosaurus, plus Fossil, Egg and Footprint. Shorter lists give fewer different cards: 30 names on a 5 × 5 card with a free space still give 593,775 different sets of 24 squares, plenty for any class.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use photos of real animals?
Yes. Use the fold-out section under the word list to choose up to 120 image files from your device, such as photos, clip art or drawings. Each picture becomes one item, and its name comes from the file name, so brown_cow.jpg becomes “Brown cow”. You can rename the items in the list.
Which list is best for preschool?
The Animal pictures preset works well for preschoolers, because each item is an emoji with a word, such as 🐶 Dog or 🦁 Lion. Pair it with a 3 × 3 grid and a free space, which needs only 8 items. Your own pictures also work with this size.
Is it free to print?
Yes. The tool is free and needs no sign-up. You print on your own printer, and you can save the cards as a PDF first by choosing “Save as PDF” and setting the scale to 100%.
How many items and cards do I need?
A 5 × 5 grid with a free space needs 24 different items, a 4 × 4 grid needs 16, and a 3 × 3 grid with a free space needs 8. You can make 1 to 500 cards per set. If your list is too short for the number of cards you asked for, the tool tells you how many different cards are possible.
Can I share the same cards with someone else?
Yes. Click Copy link and send it. The link opens exactly the same cards again, including your word list. Your own pictures are not saved in the link, so you will need to choose them again after reloading the page.
